On the other hand I reached out to Soundproof Windows Inc. and they quoted me at $2,800 plus shipping for a 3 foot by 5 foot window. As you can see there is a range. I am little skeptical about the price of the Soundproof Windows Inc, mostly because the sales rep was not at his desk and was quoting numbers off the top of his head. That number seems a bit low to me considering doing it yourself with simply buying glass would cost closer to $5,500 and that does not include any mark up.

The Pros Of Building Your Own Soundproof Windows

1) It is most likely going to be cheaper than buying a pre-made window

2) You can customize the windows to your liking and will not be constrained by your supplier.

The Pros of Buying Soundproof Windows

1) The whole process might be easier. You don't have to build them and you don't have to learn how to build your own

2) You know the windows have been lab tested and they should be consistent with those results. This means you can trust the STC ratings on the windows you buy.

3) You can buy windows that open and that can be installed over your existing windows. When you build the windows yourself you cannot open them.
